How They Are Made
We use all new Tanalised® softwood, 3in x 1in (75mm x 25mm) for the cladding and 2in x 2in (50mm x 50mm) for the framework. The roof framework is constructed from 2in x 2in (50mm x 50mm) Tanalised® softwood and covered in 1/2in (12mm) treated ply, which is then overlaid with super shed grade roofing felt (15-year life expectancy).
Before leaving us, the exposed grain is treated with Ensele® to ensure that the woodwork is fully protected against wet/dry rot and insect attack.
All load-bearing pieces are pre-drilled, glued and screwed together, the non-load-bearing pieces are pre-drilled and screwed.
So there can never be an instance where your log store won't fit together as it should, each unit is individually manufactured and assembled prior to it being broken-down into its basic panels and flat-packed ready for collection by our carrier.
Here's one installed at a customer's home, which they chose to stain.Assembly
Full assembly instructions are included and all the panels are marked so there can be no confusion as to where they should fit. The only tools and equipment required to assemble the log store is a number 2 PoziDrive screwdriver and some gloves to handle the rough sawn timber sections. Even if you're a DIY novice, it should take no more than 30 minutes to erect it.
Lead times
Our lead times are currently 3-4 weeks from receipt of your payment.
Because each unit is individually built to order, we offer a custom size service. Just telephone us on 0845 644 1440 and give us your desired dimensions along with the first part of your post code and we'll gladly give you a quotation.
If you don't warm to the idea of your log store having its roof sloping to the rear we can supply any of our designs with a forward sloping roof for an additional £20.00. Please contact us for more details.
Warranty
Your log store will be covered by our 10-year, return to base warranty against insect attack, wet rot, dry rot and to cover the unit's ability to function as a log store. For full details, please see our warranty statement.
